Durga is worshiped in many forms. But Nav Durga the nine appellation are most known. The festival navratri appears twice in a year. At the begnning of spring season (March-April) and the begning of autumn season. According to Hindu belive spring navratri are called 'Vasant Navratri' and autumn are called 'Chatra Navratri'.
During these days people establish 'Kumbh' at their houses and lighten the lamp with the faith that the light will fullfill thir lives with prosperity and health.
The seeds of Jau are implanted on the first day of navratri.
The main Nine forms which are worshiped during navratries:

3.Chandraghanta
4.kushmanda
5.SkandMata
6.Katyaini
7.Kalratri
8.Maha Gauri
9.Siddhidatri
